Come to me......

Come To Me
When you are hurting, come to Me and I will bind your wounds.
When you need to be assured, come to Me and I will give you my embrace.
When you can no longer go on, come to Me and know that in coming to me you are coming to Jesus and I will carry you.
When you need comfort, come to me and I will wipe your tears.
When you are uncertain of My love, come to Me and I will speak my heart to you.

Blessings of Autumn

print by Thomas Kinkaide
Autumn Blessings
See the goodness of our Father
in the Autumn season fair,
In the colors that delight us
When there's beauty everywhere.
In the gold and crimson hillsides,
In each maple tree ablaze,
In bright goldenrod and asters
Lining rustic country ways.
See the goodness of our Father
In the sky of sapphire-blue,
In the Autumn sun enhancing
Every lovely thing in view.
See the goodness of our Father
In the beauty of the land,
In the lavish yield we gather,
All provided by His hand.
See the goodness of our Father
In the Autumn season fair;
For this wealth of Autumn blessings,
We lift thankful hearts in prayer.

Deepest Longings.....

Continue to be soft and pliable in the Lord’s hands and out of that relationship will come the things that define you at the deepest level of your heart—revealing to yourself and others what you are really about—what moves you, motivates you, and forms your true longings. These longings come from God’s heart touching yours—resulting in the things that He will work in you and bring to pass through your life. (Based upon Psalm 37:4)

Happy Birthday Sweet Brother Jeff!

I can just hear Mom say of this picture..."Oh Jeff!" I remember how cute you were (and still are) when you were little with that blonde hair that stuck straight out, it was so nice to feel because it was so soft. You always were such a "teddy bear" and even if you would like people to think differently you still are! I hope this is a blessed year for you......next year will be the big 50!
love you lots!

Great Quotes

Thou art coming to a King.
Large petitions with thee bring;
For His grace and pow’r are such
None can ever ask too much.

-John Newton

If it can be proved that the great Father ever allows any of His children to cry to Him in vain, or if it can be shown that He leaves any of them to stumble home in the dark as best they can, then Christianity has broken down. But can it? There is no cause for alarm…each child finds a place of his own, and his voice is loved and listened to. It is inconceivable that the Father of fatherhood will overlook one of His children

Don't Forget ~9/11/01

We all remember where we were that day when the Twin Towers went down and our Nation wept. I had just finished the night shift and heard something on the radio. I turned CNN on when I got home and sat there in disbelief that this was happening to the US. This is a reminder to pray for our President and our Congressmen to make Godly decisions for our country.

Happy Birthday Little Brother!

46 years ago today my little brother Jason was born. He was 8 weeks early and weighed in at 3Lbs. 2 oz or so. His weight dropped to 2lb 13 oz. He was little but he was cute! They had to cut a normal newborn diaper in 4ths so that they fit him. I was almost 11 when he was born and I always felt like his 2nd Mommy, not his big sister! He was in the hospital a good portion of his first year as his lungs were underdeveloped. I know one night Dr. Roth spent all night in the nursery with him at the hospital and every time Jason would quit breathing he would flick the bottom of his feet and Jason would start to breath. One time when he was home from the hospital Mom looked in his little bed and he was blue and not breathing. He would of died if Mom had not checked on him at that exact moment and shook him and breathed into his mouth. That is what we call a "God Thing". Happiest of Birthdays Dear Brother of mine, I am so glad God had a plan for you to live! (Don't I sound like Mom??)

Do not fret......

God does have a plan and purpose for your life. He is in all the details. It’s those who count on luck and chance that have a good reason to worry.
O Thou Who art my quietness, my deep repose,
My rest from strife of tongues, my holy hill,
Fair is Thy pavilion, where I hold me still.
Back let them fall from me, my clamorous foes,
Confusions multiplied;
From crowding things of sense I flee, and in thee hide.
~Amy Carmichael

“Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

IF HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER

IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer).

~I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
~I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. I would have talked less and listened more.
~ I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
~ I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
~I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
~I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
~I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
~I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
~I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
~I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
~Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
~When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, 'Later. Now go get washed up for dinner.'
~There would have been more 'I love you's' More 'I'm sorry's.'
~But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute.look at it and really see it . live it and never give it back.
~STOP SWEATING THE SMALL STUFF!!! Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.

Dad and Mom's 59th Anniversary

59 years ago today Mom and Dad eloped. Mom was 18 and had just graduated from High School in June and Dad was 22. Mom wore her graduation dress, she had to sneak it out of the house so her parents didn't ask her what she was going to wear that dress to. They took 2 friends as their witnesses and got married in Grand Rapids. Later the family had a reception for them. All Mom ever wanted to do was get married and have babies! That she did and she was crazy about Jack!
~picture taken 10/07, 5 months before she went home to be with Jesus. Miss you Mama!
