The Sister's of the South Visit the Sister's of the North

Crazy girls, I said "Why don't you go sit in those chairs and I will take your picture." Mary was out the door and up the hill before I could blink, the others followed. I should of taken a video as they got up in the chair, but I was laughing too hard to even think of it! Edith Ann x 3!!
Cathy photographing wild flowers.
We are headed for 2 days in Grand Marais. As we get closer the fog rolls on in.
We had a late lunch at Naniboujou Lodge, north of Grand Marais. This historic lodge was first conceived in the 1920's as an ultra-exclusive private club. Babe Ruth, Jack Dempsey and Ring Lardner were among it's charter members. When the stock market crashed on "Black Friday" precipitating the 1929 Depression, the club began to fail. Today you will find an exiting, revitalized Naniboujou!Still reflecting the aura of the 1920's. It is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The lodge boasts Minnesota's largest native rock fireplace, a 200 ton work of art that stands in the 30 x 80 foot Great Hall.

Praise Him in the Storm

When you are facing a storm in your life, God will umbrella you in His mighty protection. He will be your anchor....
Trust Him.

Busy Days, but Memorable!

I took Alex out for dinner to celebrate his 13th Birthday!
We dined at the Olive Garden and had a nice visit!!
We tried to take a picture of the two of us! Practice is on the agendalll

Had plans to go out to dinner with my high school chums Jerry and Marlene,
we met at Forest Lake. Jerry's partner Steve and my friend William joined us.
It was fun to introduce them to each other as they had heard of each other!
We really did have a nice time!

William was so kind to my Dad and spent time visiting with him,
set up his new iPad and gave him a tutorial!! This was while I was
in the ER with Sandi, she fell down her stairs on June 20th and she
was admitted 4 doors down from Dad @ the Homestead Nursing Home
and Rehab Center!!

Here she is a few days later with Maddi, Taylor, Trenten and Hailey,
still looking a little under the weather! She has the best attitude ever!

The time with William was crazy rushed but it was better than
nothing, here we are having a lunch at Apple Bee's with Cindy
and CJ before we head back to Duluth!! I had not seen him for a year
and a half. We both celebrated 60th birthdays this year!!
We were 22 years old when we met!! God has blessed us!

This week we had a Pizza Party in the Porch at the Nursing Home!
Dad treated!! Jason, Carol, Clarence, Cindy, Tammy and Jeff in that
back row. Sandi and Dad in the wheelchairs next to Gavin
Hannah and Jared! We did have a good time with many laughs!
Jeff and Gavin should not be together they were naughty!!

And here is Dad with his children minus John! Wish you had
been with us John!

Today my Uncle John Walker is holding a vintage sign.
The word confido was an explanation of this whiskey!
I googled it and it said "Confido reduces anxiety, calms
the individual and thus restores male confidence,"
we sure had a good laugh out of that!!!

They are camping in Moose Lake for the week, Aunt Betty
made a nice lunch and John later went to the Dairy Queen
for chocolate shakes!! Yum! Sure was fun to spend the
afternoon with them!,
