It has been my goal this winter to share on Facebook photos that showed that winter could be beautiful. I did it for myself because winter is my least favorite season. I was so pleased that so many local photographers shared their photos this season on FB. I feel so blessed!

Retirement Party for Eileen and Barbara
We had a wonderful party today to celebrate Eileen Sugars and Barbara Eckenberg's retirement from St. Luke's hospital. The first picture is the group of us who worked together for many many years in the cardiac intensive care unit. We had quite a team, and still have such affection for each other!!
Carol, Ardis and Toni in front. Janet, Kris, Barb, Diane, Ann and Melodee in the middle and Clint, Rick, Wayne, Susan and Eileen in the back.
Clint and Roxie Mattson were our hosts today at their lovely home in Maple, Wisconsin
These gals are gloating because they are all retired! Ardis, Bonnie, Barb, Eileen and Melodee
Yea for these good friends Eileen and Barbara!!Good nurses who can now enjoy this new phase of their lives!

One Solitary Life
ONE SOLITARY LIFE
He was born in an obscure village
The child of a peasant woman
He grew up in another obscure village
Where he worked in a carpenter shop
Until he was thirty
He never wrote a book
He never had an office
He never went to college
... He never visited a big city
He never travelled more than two hundred miles
From the place where he was born
He did none of the things
Usually associated with greatness
He had no credentials but himself
He was only thirty three
His friends ran away
One of them denied him
He was turned over to his enemies
And went through the mockery of a trial
He was nailed to a cross between two thieves
While dying, his executioners gambled for his clothing
The only property he had on earth
When he was dead
He was laid in a borrowed grave
Through the pity of a friend
Twenty centuries have come and gone
And today Jesus is the central figure of the human race
And the leader of mankind’s progress
All the armies that have ever marched
All the navies that have ever sailed
All the parliaments that have ever sat
All the kings that ever reigned put together
Have not effected the life of mankind on earth
As powerfully as that one solitary life
by Dr. James Allen 1926

Happy New Year
And in all things, may you know the shalom peace of God—encouraging you to move forward, empowering you to boldly take each step, greeting you as you turn a new corner, calming your heartbeat as you walk through dark valleys, softening each footstep as you climb rugged mountains, and increasing your courage as you follow your Shepherd wherever He leads.
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance. The grasslands of the wilderness become a lush pasture, and the hillsides blossom with joy. Psalm 65:11-12 NLT
