I was born to be an Auntie!

Sandi and I wanted to stop at Mom's grave. Maddi wanted to bring her new dolly so she could show her where Grandma Great's body was. She told me "Grandma Great is in Heaven with a new body and she can walk". It is so important to be honest with children, they understand more than we give them credit for!

Jonathan gave them a ride with the 4 wheeler, Taylor, Maddi, Preston and TJ

Hannah took us to her other Grandma's house so we could stock up on rhubarb! Yum!!

Charlie and Colin made us laugh at breakfast after the California Cousin's were loving on them. Charilie said of Julie "She sure has alot of energy". Colin looked at Connie's long polished nails and said "Sharp Fingers"! You have to love the honesty of children!!!

Maddi and Taylor fresh out of the bathtub! They stayed with us a couple nights at the cabin,

Memorial Day

Memorial Day, holiday in the United States observed in late May. Previously designated Decoration Day, it was inaugurated in 1868 by Gen. John A. Logan for the purpose of decorating the graves of Civil War veterans and has since become a day on which all war dead are commemorated

Be Conscious Of Your Postion In Christ

One of the things God is teaching me more and more through this last month of being sick is that we as Christians really do need each other. When one is down, the other can pull him/her up by words of encouragement and prayer. God never intended us to travel this journey alone. Thank you Mike for sharing this devotional with me.........Susan

John 15:55“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. "

In this verse, Jesus says, “I am the vine, you are the branches.” He did not say, “I am the vine, try to be the branches.” In other words, He wants us to realize that we are already the branches. We do not have to struggle to become the branches.
As His branches, we only have to abide or remain in Christ our vine. How do we do that? We do that by simply being conscious every day of our position in Christ. Because we have received Christ, we are in Christ and are accepted in the Beloved. (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 1:6) God accepts us because we are in the Beloved and He is in us. And that is how God sees us today when we come into His presence.

What the devil wants to do then is to get you to focus on your condition instead of your position in Christ. The condition you are facing could be financial lack or deteriorating health. The devil wants you to focus on your condition and forget your position — that you are the righteousness of God in Christ and that you are seated with Him in heavenly places at the Father’s right hand. (2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 2:6) He wants you to forget that you are an heir of God and a joint heir with Christ. (Romans 8:17)

The devil knows that once you focus on your position in Christ, it will give you the power to change your condition and circumstances. John 15:5 says that you will bear “much fruit”. This means that when you pray against any lack, abundant supply will flow. When you pray for healing, sickness will leave.

My friend, none of these things can happen by your own doing, but by His life which flows through you. Just as sap flowing through the branches of a vine will cause them to bring forth fruit, His life flowing through you will bring forth a bountiful harvest of prosperity, healing and miracles. You only need to remain conscious of who you are in Christ!

God is so Awesome

~rocky atlantic coast by william conk

God's order may be observed in the hatching of eggs. For example :

-the eggs of the potato bug hatch in 7 days;

-those of the canary in 14 days;

-those of the barnyard hen in 21 days ;

-the eggs of ducks and geese hatch in 28 days;

-those of the mallard in 35 days ;

-The eggs of the parrot and the ostrich hatch in 42 days.

(Notice, they are all divisible by seven, the number of days in a week!)

The lives of each of you may be ordered by the Lord in a beautiful way for His glory, if you will only entrust Him with your life. If you try to regulate your own life, it will only be a mess and a failure. Only the One Who made the brain and the heart can successfully guide them to a profitable end.

God's wisdom is seen in the making of an elephant.. The four legs of this great beast all bend forward in the same direction. No other quadruped is so made. God ordered that this animal would have a huge body, and for this reason He gave it four fulcrums so that it can rise from the ground easily.

The horse rises from the ground on its two front legs first.

A cow rises from the ground with its two hind legs first.

How wise the Lord is in all His works of creation! God's wisdom is revealed in His arrangement of fruit, vegetable, and grain seed sections and segments, as well as in the number of seeds/grains.

-Each watermelon has an even number of stripes on the rind.

-Each orange has an even number of segments.

-Each ear of corn has an even number of rows.

-Each stalk of wheat has an even number of grains.

-Every bunch of bananas has on its lowest row an even number of bananas, and each row decreases by one, so that one row has an even number and the next row an odd number.

-The waves of the sea roll in on shore twenty-six to the minute in all kinds of weather.

All grains are found in even numbers on the stalks, and the Lord specified thirty fold, sixty fold, and a hundredfold - all even numbers.

God has caused the flowers to blossom at certain specified times during the day, so that Linnaeus, the great botanist, once said that if he had a conservatory containing the right kind of soil, moisture and temperature, he could tell the time of day or night by the flowers that were open and those that were closed!

Thus the Lord in His wonderful grace can arrange the life that is entrusted to His care in such a way that it will carry out His purposes and plans, and will be fragrant with His presence. Only the God-planned safe life is successful. Only the life given over to the care of the Lord is fulfilled . I HOPE YOU FIND THIS AS FASCINATING AS I DID.....WOW!!!! May God Bless You In Ways You Never Even Dreamed Today!

Receiving and Waiting

In your walk with God two things will always be true: You will be receiving from Him and you will be waiting upon Him. Your faith must trust Him for both. You need to receive from Him what is yours for today and wait upon Him for what will be yours tomorrow.

What are the things that are yours today and your faith can receive? Here are a few—you don’t have to wait for His peace, His grace, His mercies, His forgiveness, His cleansing, His truth, His salvation, His strength, His presence, His life, His blessing, His love.

Even though there are many things that are yours today because you are in Christ, there are also things that require your faith to wait. They include prayers you are waiting to see answered, promises you are waiting to be fulfilled, bible prophecies you are waiting to see happen, God’s timing in relation to your personal guidance, clarity to take the next step, and the coming of the Bridegroom returning for His bride.

What should your faith do in response to what is yours today? Receive! What should your faith do in response to what will be yours another day? Rest! As you wait upon the Lord, wait with a quiet heart, not an anxious one; with a thankful heart, not a complaining one; with a peaceful heart, not a striving one; with a hopeful heart, not a discouraged one; with a confident heart, not an uncertain one; with a steadfast heart, not a wavering one; with a patient heart, not a hasty one.

You do not need to try and control or manipulate your future. God is able to fulfill all that He has said and all that He has promised. As you wait, continue to pray, continue to trust, continue to believe, continue to hold hope in your heart, continue to obey, and continue to rejoice every more. You have a God who cannot and will not fail!

His timing and His timetable are always perfect. He knows what He is doing and He does it well. Remember, all creation testifies to the wisdom of His ways—in time the green fruit ripens, the wheat becomes golden, the baby bird takes flight, the sapling spreads its branches, the peonies flower, the gardenia gives its fragrance, the sunflower brings forth its abundance of seeds.

The Goodness of God

When we come to a place where we truly believe that God is good, that He is our heavenly Father, we can put fear aside and dive into new realms of the Spirit and begin to experience the fullness of the goodness of God.- Beni Johnson (The Happy Intercessor)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day 2005

My Mother was not perfect but I never never doubted for a minute that she did not love me.

On this Mother's Day without her here with me I rejoice in that fact!

I am blessed!

Fret Busters!

The trillium always remind me of the Trinity~ The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit. We need all three in our lives.......

There are two things that often rob us of peace. One is incomplete obedience to the will of God, and the second is going beyond the will of God. It’s important to go when He says “Go”, and it’s equally important to stop when He says, “Stop”. – F.B. Meyer

The peace of God is the atmosphere He wants you to live in. Joy is a flame of the Holy Spirit within us. Fretting is like a giant fire extinguisher that quenches the flame.

If you are heavy laden, come and receive Jesus’ easy yoke; if you are stressed, come and receive Jesus’ light burden; if you are weary, come and receive Jesus’ rest. When you are yoked to Jesus you are not yoked to heaviness, drudgery, or despair.

Celebrate the Lord today and delight to do His will. There is no Scripture that says, “If you enjoy what you are doing, you must be out of God’s will.”“I delight to do Your will, O my God…” Psalm 40:8 NKJV

Happy Nurses Day!

National Nurses Day, also known as National RN Recognition Day, is always celebrated on May 6th and opens National Nurses Week. National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, the birth date of Florence Nightingale. National Nurses Week is one of the nation's largest health care events, recognizing the contributions and commitments nurses make and educating the public about the significant work they perform.

Oh how different my life would of been had I not chosen nursing as my profession. I was 12 years old when I knew that is what I wanted to be and I pursued my career by starting as a volunteer at my home hospital at age 15 and then at age 16 I was given the opportunity to work as a nurse's aide and was trained by a feisty old red headed nurses aide! All of the staff were so good to me teaching me things that I would normally as a NA never be able to do. I was 16 when I saw my first delivery, took care of a burn victim in isolation, and took vital signs on patients coming back from surgery. When I think of it now, they did give me too much responsibility but I was too inexperienced to realize that at the time.

I have loved my 35 +years as a Registered Nurse and have so many memories. Those of you who know me well have heard over and over again my stories.

Happy Nurses Day to my fellow Nurses!
